Today, we’re launching Showtime Anytime on Xbox One. If you’re an Xbox Live member in the U.S., you can now access unlimited hours of programming, including current seasons of the highly buzzed-about series “Homeland” and “The Affair.” Subscribers can also watch the East and West Coast feeds live through the app. Showtime Anytime on Xbox One is available for free to all who subscribe to Showtime through participating television providers. You can also preview the Showtime Anytime service and watch select episodes of Showtime series for free on the console. The app is also available on Xbox 360.
In addition to “Homeland” and “The Affair”, you can now watch current and past seasons of the network’s award-winning original series including “Shameless,” “Ray Donovan,” “Masters of Sex,” “Penny Dreadful,” “House of Lies,” “Californication,” “Dexter,” “Web Therapy,” “Episodes” and “Nurse Jackie” along with box office hits, hard-hitting sports, documentaries and specials. We’re bringing our full slate of special features, including resuming programs previously watched on your computers, mobile or other streaming media devices, and the “My List” feature, where you can access all of your saved programs. The app also supports voice and gesture controls using Kinect for Xbox One, so you can browse and watch your favorite Showtime programming without the use of a controller or remote.
With our app on Xbox One, we’re introducing a new feature for Showtime Anytime on the television, making it easy to marathon view series or resume programs where they left off. Additionally, you can select your favorite Showtime series, movies or boxing matches and “pin” them to their Xbox One Home screen.
Now’s the perfect time to download the Showtime Anytime app as we gear up for the premieres for the following three hit comedy series, coming Sunday, Jan. 11:
- “Shameless” – First up at 9 p.m. ET/PT, it’s the fifth season of “Shameless” starring Oscar nominee and Emmy winner William H. Macy as pickled patriarch Frank Gallagher and Golden Globe nominee Emmy Rossum as resilient daughter and Gallagher leader, Fiona. Season five finds the clan dealing with both the upside and downside of personal and urban renewal. As their neighborhood begins a move towards gentrifying, the Gallaghers begins to reconcile their chaotic past in the hopes of building a better future.
- “House of Lies” – Next, at 10 p.m. ET/PT, Oscar nominee Don Cheadle returns as Marty Kaan in the fourth season of ”House of Lies.” We last left a despondent Marty alone in the desert after a cataclysmic double-cross by Jeannie (Kristen Bell) and a visit by the Feds. This season, Marty’s brief stint in white collar prison left Jeannie to pick up the pieces of the now tainted Kaan & Associates with Clyde (Ben Schwartz) and Doug (Josh Lawson). Client flight decimated the bottom line, but Marty is a singular focus: winning, at any and all cost.
- “Episodes” – Finally, Matt LeBlanc is back as, well, Matt LeBlanc in the fourth season of “Episodes” at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT. He returns in his Emmy-nominated and Golden Globe Award-winning role as a fictionalized version of himself. This season, Matt faces a financial crisis and is forced to make some tough decisions. Matt being Matt, he will likely make the wrong ones. Sean (Stephen Mangan) and Beverly (Tamsin Greig) have been dragged back to L.A. to shoot more episodes of their disastrous sitcom “Pucks!” Meanwhile, their other project, “The Opposite of Us,” refuses to go away. And there’s a new network head who will, in all likelihood, make life more complicated for everyone.
