The Metro series has been announced for next generation systems. Metro 2033 Redux & Metro Last Light Redux will both be sold separately digitally for $24.99 or together on retail for $49.99. It will release sometime this summer in 2014.
Metro Redux will run at 60 fps and it has been rebuilt “in the latest and greatest iteration of the 4A Engine, bringing all the graphical and gameplay improvements from Last Light to Metro 2033 Redux”. It will include all dlc for both games which includes an additional ten hours of gameplay. New gameplay mechanics has also been introduced in this remastering such as “new melee animations, and the fan-requested ‘Check Watch’ and ‘Check Inventory’ features.”.
Two new play styles are also being introduced such as “Survival” & “Spartan”. The survival play style are for those who favored the horror aspect of the Metro series. The survival play style is “a fraught slow-burn fight for survival with limited resources, deadlier enemy AI, and slower reload speeds.” The spartan play style are for those who enjoyed the more action aspect of the Metro series. The spartan play style provides “Artyom with a powerful set of combat skills and more plentiful resources”.
The Legendary Ranger Mode will return to the Metro series which provides “the most immersive and challenging experience as the HUD is stripped away and hardcore rules apply”.
